2017.08 DPKO-DFS Business Continuity Arrangements for Critical Staff (Guidelines)
These Guidelines describe the business continuity arrangements and responsibilities for identification and management of critical staff in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) and the Department of Field Operations (DFS). It is intended to serve as a user guide for critical staff and provides instructions for issuance of UN equipment for business continuity purposes. This document provides the internal arrangements for DPKO and DFS to maintain critical business processes and identify the critical staff necessary to perform them to ensure continuity of critical operations at all times when facing incidents of any nature (e.g., fire, power outage, bomb threat, hostile act, pandemic outbreak or natural disaster) and be able to resume them within specified Recovery Time Objectives when interrupted.
